Activity 7.7 Migration of a Neuron along a Radial Glial Cell

Radial glial cells act as guide wires for the migration of neurons. This video shows an immature cerebellar granule cell neuron migrating along a radial glial fiber in tissue culture. In the brain, migrating neurons move along glial cells from the inner surface (ventricular zone) to the outer surface (marginal zone) of the emerging nervous system.
